Designed by architecture firm Snøhetta this pavilion is located in Hjerkinn, Norway. It is open to the public and serves as an observation pavilion for the Wild Reindeer Foundation educational programs.

Snøhetta's Words:
This unique natural, cultural and mythical landscape has formed the basis of the architectural idea. The building design is based on a rigid outer shell and an organic inner core. The south facing exterior wall and the interior create a protected and warm gathering place, while still preserving the visitor’s view of the spectacular panorama.

Bee colonies are dying. The Urban Beehive is an attempt at promoting bee preservation by making it possible to keep a beehive in a city apartment. Philips designed this beekeeping system for those who want to combine sustainability and a cool aesthetic. It is mounted on a wall, with the outdoor portion holding a small flower garden and the indoor side equipped with a transparent bubble that lets you see the bees, as well as a smoke actuator that calms them down for when you want to collect the honey.

I had the honor to meet and work with Alain this summer in Berlin. He is an amazing person and I fell in love with his work the minute he showed it to me. This series depicts vivid images of chinese bicycle-couriers. These piles of stacked 'made in china' products form beautiful unusual sculptures. He has captured stunning portraits of 'insignificant' jobs still present in everyday life in Shanghai. Check out more of his work here.
